A Perfect Blend

It's been a while since I've made a coffee themed design, so I put one together to share today.  The current square layout from Retro Sketches was a perfect fit for the mug image from the Clear and Simple Stamps Morning Brew:  Coffee set.

A Perfect Blend card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Clear and Simple Stamps
The mug was stamped in cream ink on a scrap of white cardstock and cut out.  Before attaching it to a white panel stamped with the foamy topping in gray ink, I filled in the tiny heart on the mug with the tiny heart from the Taglines:  Critters set for a fun pop of color.  The set's "a perfect blend" sentiment was stamped at the top of the panel in brown ink.

The image panel was layered on a kraft card base over a red patterned paper panel and a dark brown cardstock panel.  The pair of panels make a nice frame for the image. A strip of red heart patterned washi tape placed over the panels helped to set the image panel off from the background.  I finished the design by adding a pair of red die cut hearts to the bottom of the image panel with foam tape.

Materials Used:
Morning Brew:  Coffee and Taglines:  Critters stamp sets, Dare to Be a Diva Red, Dish All the Dirt Brown, On the Catwalk Cream, and You're Such a Gray-cious Host inks, Dare to Be a Diva Red, Dish All the Dirt Brown, Kraft Like a Rockstar, and A Blanc Check cardstock, Shapes:  Hearts and Build a Critter:  Owl/Kitty dies (Clear and Simple Stamps); With Love 6x6 paper pad (Michaels); heart washi tape; foam tape
