Color Throwdown 328-Oh Happy Day

It's time for another Color Throwdown!  Barbara's our hostess this week and she's chosen a palette inspired by this pretty pillow--dark blue, orange, aqua, and green.

Oh Happy Day card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps from Lawn FawnThe layout for my card is based on the current Deconstructed Sketch.  I used a pale blue cardstock panel to make a small sunny scene.  I added a strip of green "grass" along the bottom and an orange sun and shimmery white cloud at the top.  The stitched detailing on all of the die cut pieces helped to tie all of the elements together.  There was just enough room for the "oh happy day" sentiment from the Lawn Fawn Hello Sunshine set at the middle of the panel.  I stamped it in navy pigment ink for a nice contrast.

I tucked two die cut fishtail flag strips under the sun, then adhered the scene to a navy cardstock panel with an orange patterned paper strip along the left edge.  The finished panel was adhered to a green card base.

To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post. As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. Just be sure that the challenge colors are the dominant ones in your project. And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD328.

Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team, our February guestie, Jen Shults, and this week’s guest star stamper, Flo.
