Paper Smooches SPARKS-Love You Nerd

*** Scroll down to the post below or click HERE to see my card for this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch challenge. ***

This week's Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge is an inspiration photo based on the fabulous image seen above (photo credit).  I was inspired by the books in the photo and created my card by mixing images from the Smarty Pants and Incognito stamp sets.

Love You Nerd card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps from Paper Smooches
I stamped the book, apple, and ruler from the Smarty Pants set and colored the images with Copic markers, then carefully cut them out.  The glasses from the Incognito set were stamped in brown ink.  After shading the lenses just a bit with a pale blue marker, I cut them out, too.  All of the images were adhered to a kraft strip, some with foam tape for dimension.  I was going for a table or shelf-like look.

I layered the strip over a panel of ledger patterned paper adhered to a golden yellow cardstock panel.  The sentiment from the Incognito set was stamped above the images in red pigment ink. I set the finished panel on a kraft card base.

Don’t miss what the rest of the SPARKS team has created this week. Here’s where to find them: Katie
