The Challenge 28-There's No Place Like Home

The Challenge is celebrating its first anniversary!  We're excited to announce that as of this week, we'll be moving to a weekly challenge schedule. Each week will feature a different kind of challenge on a rotating basis.  We hope you'll join us!

To play along, just link up a newly created project to the challenge post at Always Playing with Paper. We're thrilled to have Sugar Pea Designs sponsoring this week's challenge.  SPD is offering a generous $20 gift certificate to one lucky challenge participant.

There's No Place Like Home card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps from Sugar Pea Designs
I used the Sweet Sentiments-Home set and Home Sweet Home die from Sugar Pea Designs to make a simple scene.  I die cut the word "home" from a piece of aqua dotted patterned paper.  I used the inlaid die cutting technique and filled in the negative space with a kraft die cut.  To add dimension and color, I die cut the word "home" again, this time from red cardstock.  I trimmed away just the house part of the word and layered it (and a few other houses cut from scrap white cardstock) on top of the house on the card. I used a border punch to make a strip of grass to place underneath the house, then stamped the "there's no place like" sentiment just above the die cut.  I filled out the scene with a sun and clouds made from more die cut pieces.

Don't miss what the rest of The Challenge team and some special guests have created for this week's challenge.  Here's where to find them:
