TCP Tuesday 289-Just a Note

It's time for a new TCP Tuesday challenge at The Cat's Pajamas!  Lisa is our hostess this week and she's found these pretty photos to use as the starting point for our projects.

Just a Note card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from The Cat's Pajamas
I took my inspiration from the bird covered with musical notes and the colors of the mason jars.  The layout for my design is based on the current sketch from CAS(e) this Sketch.  I started out by creating an inked background made by pressing a distress ink pad on my craft mat and misting it with water, then pressing watercolor paper into the inky puddle on my mat.  While I was waiting for the ink to dry, I die cut a bird from music note patterned paper using TCP's CutUps Home Tweet Home die.  I brushed the bird with a pale peach watercolor wash, then inked the edges with a brown distress ink pad to get an aged look.

Once all of the pieces were dry, I adhered the bird to the watercolor panel using foam tape.  I twisted some twine behind it to make a messy thread nest and add some texture to the design.  The "just a note" sentiment from the The Tweetest Thing set was stamped on a peach cardstock strip and adhered to the panel beneath the bird.  I accented the panel with a trio of white sequins, then layered it on to a kraft card base.

Be sure to stop by the TCP blog for more inspiration and for all the details on how you can play along with the challenge.  Challenge participants have a chance to win a Cat Cash prize (with a little extra thrown in if you use TCP stamps/dies) and to be named the Swanky Stamper of the month, which earns you a slot in an upcoming TCP release blog hop along with a selection of stamps from the release!  Be sure to link up your card on the TCP blog for a chance to win.  Happy stamping!
