The Challenge 35-Watercolored Thanks

The Challenge is back again with a new challenge!  This week we've got an inspiration challenge featuring a fabulous floral bouquet.  I took my cue from the bouquet and created a watercolor style card using stamps from Paper Smooches.

Watercolored Thanks-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps from Paper Smooches
I inked the flower and vase stamps from the Crystal Clear set, then misted them with some water before stamping them on watercolor paper.  The shading around the vase was done by scribbling a distress marker on a clear block, then using a damp paint brush to add the color to the panel.  I used the same inking and misting technique to add the "thanks" sentiment from the Simply Said set

I adhered the finished image panel over a yellow dotted paper panel on a light blue card base.   I wrapped a strip of yellow cardstock with some blue baker's twine and secured it with a bow, then added it to the open space at the top of the image panel.  A few white sequins scattered around the panel finished the design.

Don't miss what the rest of The Challenge team and our talented guest designers have created for this week's color challenge. Here's where to find them:

  3. Beautifully done, Lori. Blue and yellow is one of my favorite color combos. Love how you softened these colors with your faux watercolor technique.

  4. Love the stamping technique, Lori! Makes them look hand painted. Very creative idea for the shading too! Have to remember that.
