Have a Star-Spangled Day

I thought I'd mark today's July 4th holiday with a fun, celebratory card.  The Aim High set from The Cat's Pajamas was a perfect fit for what I had in mind.

Have a Star-Spangled Day card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps from The Cat's Pajamas
I colored the set's big-eared bunny image with Copic markers, then carefully cut him out.  I used foam tape to adhere the image to a sky-like background panel made from watercolor paper that I pressed into some watered down distress inks on a craft sheet.

I used silver ink to stamp the set's starry trail image extending out from behind the bunny, then added the "have a star-spangled day" sentiment in teal pigment ink.  The bunny and sentiment were accented with a trio of silver enamel dots.  After matting the panel on contrasting red cardstock, I adhered it to a blue card base.

Hope you are able to enjoy the day with family and friends!  I'll be sticking close to home today since the loud boom of fireworks is one of the few things that my sweet Chloe the cutie puppy is fearful of.

Materials Used:
Aim High stamp set (The Cat's Pajamas); Memento Tuxedo Black, Memento Luxe Teal Zeal, and Delicata Silvery Shimmer inks (IMAGINE Crafts/Tsukineko); Stormy Sky, Mermaid Lagoon, and Faded Jeans distress inks (Ranger);  markers (Copic); Real Red cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Lush Lagoon cardstock (My Favorite Things); silver enamel dots (Eyelet Outlet); foam tape
