With Thanks

Here's my card for this week's Muse challenge.  I took my inspiration from the cherry image that Joan used on her card, as well as her fun color scheme.  I switched up the color proportions on my versions, but kept a pair of cherries as the focal image.

With Thanks card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Clear and Simple Stamps
My cherries are from the Clear and Simple Stamps Perfect Harvest set.  I colored the image with Copic markers, trying to add a little shading to give them a rounded look.  This afternoon, I'm heading to my not-so-local stamp store to take a class on shading from master colorist Sandy Allnock of Operation Write Home fame and I'm hoping her tips make a big difference in my coloring!  We'll see . . .  Anyway, after die cutting the image, I used foam tape to adhere it inside a curly label frame stamped on a green cardstock panel.  The "with thanks" sentiment was stamped in the open part of the frame.

I adhered the green panel to a contrasting white card base.  I tucked a strip of black cardstock underneath the bottom edge of the green panel, then added another narrow green panel, edged with a silver eyelet border strip, beneath it.  I really like how the shape of the eyelet border kind of ties in with the rounded loops of the frame.

Materials Used:
Perfect Harvest and Curly Label Frames 1 stamp sets, Perfect Little Black Dress ink, Glamazon Green, Perfect Little Black Dress, A Blanc Check, and Sterling Silver cardstock, Mini Fruit and Border:  Eyelet dies (Clear and Simple Stamps); markers (Copic); foam tape

  1. As soon as I saw this card in my feedly, I knew it was for the challenge! Love it. Yup, that eyelet border mirrors that curlique frame. I have that frame and never think to use it. Must dig it out!! Thanks for participating. I am honored that you did so!
