TCP Tuesday 296-Thinking of You

It's time for a new TCP Tuesday challenge at The Cat's Pajamas!   For this round, we're featuring a bold and bright color challenge using hot pink, denim blue, and yellow.

Thinking of You card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps from The Cat's PajamasI decided to try the colors in a watercolor style. I started out by finding distress ink pads that matched the challenge colors. Each ink pad was pressed on to a sheet of acetate, then I misted the acetate with water, making the ink pool. I was careful to not spray too much so that the colors didn’t all blend together and get muddied. I pressed a piece of watercolor paper down on to the watery inks to transfer the colors, then carefully lifted the paper and let it dry.

Once the paper had dried (with the help of my heat tool) and flattened, I stamped the elegant “thinking of you” sentiment from the new Simply Stacked Sentiments set on the paper in white pigment ink. So it would stand out more, I heat embossed the words with white embossing powder. A few sparkling clear sequins arranged around the text draw your attention to the words without adding anymore color to the bright, bold panel. I matted the panel on white cardstock, then adhered it to a yellow card base.

Be sure to stop by the TCP blog for more inspiration and for all the details on how you can play along with the challenge.  Challenge participants have a chance to win a Cat Cash prize (with a little extra thrown in if you use TCP stamps/dies) and to be named the Swanky Stamper of the month, which earns you a slot in an upcoming TCP release blog hop along with a selection of stamps from the release!  Be sure to link up your card on the TCP blog for a chance to win.  And, if you use any TCP products on your project, you can also link up for our Summer Blog Hop.  There's a $50 voucher for the TCP store up for grabs, so you don't want to miss out on your chance to win!
