You're the Coolest

Here's my card for this week's My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge.  I thought about using one of those cute little mice from the Harvest Mouse set for my card, but in the end, went with a penguin from the Penguins in Paradise set.

You're the Coolest card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps from My Favorite Things
I stamped the penguin on a matching die cut piece, then used Copic markers to color in the image.  It's hard to see in the photo, but I coated the top of the popsicle with glitter for an icy look.  The finished image was adhered to a pierced circle die cut, then layered on a just slightly larger red pinking edged circle die cut.

I covered most of a dark aqua card base in a rainbow striped patterned paper, then added a bright yellow square, edged with narrow red strips, to the center of the patterned paper.  A  long, wide fishtail flag strip cut with one of the Blueprints 24 dies was adhered to the yellow panel, then topped with the image panel.  I stamped the "you're the coolest" sentiment on a white fishtail flag strip and used foam tape to adhere it to the card base.

Materials Used:
Penguins in Paradise stamp set, Die-Namics Penguins in Paradise, Pierced Circle Stax, Blueprints 24, and Fishtail Flag Stax dies (My Favorite Things); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); markers (Copic); Hawaiian Shores, Harvest Gold, and Pure Poppy cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Sunny Days Ahead 6x6 paper pad (Echo Park); pinking circle dies (Spellbinders); Dazzling Diamonds (Stampin' Up!); foam tape
