The Key to My Heart

I'm sharing another love themed design today using stamps and dies from the SugarPea Designs January release.  The layout for my card is loosely based on the current sketch at Can You Case It.

The Key to My Heart card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from SugarPea DesignsI'm working my way through stacks (and stacks!) of older patterned paper, so for this card, I used the paper as my starting point.  I adhered a white paper doily to a piece of red on red dotted patterned paper, trimming off one side of the doily for a straight edge.  The doily's center is covered with a red Zig Zag Stitched Circles die cut.  I stamped the "you hold" sentiment from the Key to My Heart set right on the red cardstock.

The rest of the sentiment was stamped on the shiny silver key.  The key was die cut with one of the coordinating Key to My Heart dies.  It was adhered to the panel using foam tape.  I accented the key with a tiny kraft tag, stamped with hearts and tied with a twine bow, and a trio of white enamel dots.

Be sure to check out the creations that some of my other SPD team mates are sharing today on their blogs:
