Be My Valentine

I couldn't resist the sweet new Lovie Friends stamp set from Lil' Inker Designs.  The images are fun to color and great for lots of occasions, not just Valentine's Day.  I colored up the set's panda image for this card based on the current sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.

Be My Valentine card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Lil' Inker Designs
The panda was colored with Copic markers, then cut with the matching die.  I used foam tape to adhere the image to a pale pink stitched rectangle die cut.  The die cut was adhered to a pink dotted patterned paper (leftover from my holiday cards!) over a strip of white cardstock.  I stamped the "be my valentine" sentiment in white ink on a narrow red cardstock strip, then heat embossed the words in white so that they'd pop against the red.  The sentiment strip was adhered to the card, positioned just beneath the panda's feet.  I layered the finished panel on to a coordinating pale pink card base.

Materials Used:
Lovie Friends stamp set, Lovie Friends and Stitched Rectangle dies (Lil' Inker Designs); Memento Tuxedo Black and Memento Luxe Wedding Dress inks (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); markers (Copic); Pink Lemonade cardstock (My Favorite Things); Real Red cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Recollections pink dotted patterned paper, Snow embossing powder (Michaels); foam tape
