Mojo Monday 438-The Most Fabulous Birthday Ever

The Most Fabulous Birthday Ever card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps from Verve Stamps

Happy Monday!  It's time for a new Mojo Monday sketch.   I used this week's sketch to make a monochromatic masculine birthday card.

After deciding I was going to use the birthday sentiment from Verve's Better Together set, I went to work finding a paper with a chevron pattern like the one in the sentiment.  I settled on this kraft and cream paper I found in a paper pad from an old Studio Calico card kit.  I die cut a kraft circle and added that to the panel, then ran a strip of dark brown grosgrain ribbon from my scrap pile along the length of the card.  The sentiment was stamped on a piece of pale tan cardstock in a very dark brown ink.  I matted the sentiment panel on dark brown cardstock, then layered it over the circle and ribbon.  It was topped with a gold stitched star die cut for a pop of sparkle and shine.  The finished panel was adhered to a cream card base.

Don't forget--since it's the first Monday of the month, it's also contest time.  A stamp set from Verve Stamps is up for grabs from the lucky contest winners, so be sure to play along.  Head on over to the Mojo Monday blog for more inspiration from the design team and to add your own take on this week's sketch!  You can also find all of the Mojo Makers at their blogs here:
