Color Throwdown 401-Thinking of You

It's time for another Color Throwdown!  Amy Rysavy is this week's hostess and she's chosen a combination of very rich colors--dark pink, burgundy, peach, and purple.  I took lots of inspiration from the photo she used for the colors when creating my card for this week's challenge.

Thinking of You card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps from The Cat's Pajamas
I used four distress inks to make the background panel, carefully blending the colors together.  The blended panel was die cut with a stitched rectangle die to give it a nice, finished look.  To add depth to the panel, I splashed some water droplets on it and let them dry.  Patience is not my strong point!

After the water dried, I stamped the silhouette flower image from the Simple Blooms set and the "thinking of you" sentiment from the Simply Stacked Sentiments set (both from The Cat's Pajamas) on the panel in black pigment ink, then heat embossed them in black for a bold pop.  The panel was matted on gold paper, then adhered to a pink card base.

To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post. As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. Just be sure that the challenge colors are the dominant ones in your project. And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD401. If you upload your projects on social media, go ahead and use the hashtag #ctd401 and #colorthrowdown. You can find us on Instagram (and on Facebook!) with the username colorthrowdown.

Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team and this week's guest star stamper, Katrina Bufton.
