You Rescued Me

Today I'm sharing a sweet card based on the current challenge at Global Design Project.  There's also a special meaning behind this one . . .

You Rescued Me card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps from My Favorite Things
I made an adorable dog from the You Make My Tail Wag set from My Favorite Things the focal point on my design. The dog was colored with Copic markers and carefully cut out.  To go with the dog, I created a simple backdrop on an aqua card base.  After adhering a green dotted patterned paper panel to the card base, I layered a white picket fence die cut along the top edge of the patterned paper.  The dog image was attached at the top of the fence, using foam tape for dimension.  I stamped the "you rescued me" sentiment from the Lucky Dog set to the right of the dog image, then accented it with a tiny dimensional heart sticker.

And as for the meaning behind this one, today I'll be adding a rescue dog to my family!  I've been looking for a companion for my amazing goldendoodle, Chloe the cutie puppy, for a while now.  It's taken some time, but I think we've found just the right one--a mini goldendoodle who we'll be calling Bo.  He's arriving here this afternoon and I'm so excited for all of the adventures we'll have together!

Materials Used:
You Make My Tail Wag and Lucky Dog stamp sets (My Favorite Things); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); markers (Copic); Aqua Mist and Ripe Avocado cardstock, Simply Chartreuse patterned paper (Papertrey Ink); Picket Fence Border die (Taylored Expressions); heart sticker (Momenta); foam tape
