How Sweet of You

Here's my card for this month's first Viva la Verve sketch.  I used the layout to make a sweet thank you card with Verve's Small Packages stamp set.

How Sweet of You card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps from Verve StampsI used a yummy color combination--pink and brown--with gold accents.  I covered a pale pink card base with a piece of pink patterned paper, then used scraps for the rest of the layout's panels.  For an extra feminine touch, I tucked a piece of cream trim underneath the bottom edge of the chocolate brown cardstock panel.

The small cupcake from the stamp set was stamped in black ink, then colored with Copic markers and cut out with the matching die from the coordinating Cupcake Frame set.  The "how sweet of you" sentiment was stamped in black ink on a white pierced circle.  I added it on top of the cardfront and placed a gold fishtail flag strip beneath the text, then used foam tape to put the cupcake image in place.  I probably should have stamped the sentiment just a tiny bit more to the left . . . I added a trio of gold sequins as an accent and to distract from the sentiment's off placement. Hope it works!

Materials Used:
Small Packages stamp set, Cupcake Frame dies (Verve Stamps); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); markers (Copic); Sweet Blush and Kraft cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Chocolate Chip cardstock (Stampin' Up!); gold paper (Target); Style Essentials-Light Pink Quatrefoil designer paper (Echo Park); Die-namics Pierced Circle STAX and Fishtail Flag STAX dies (My Favorite Things); gold sequins; foam tape
