Color Throwdown 418-Dipped Leaf Thanks

It's time for another Color Throwdown!  Lynn is our hostess this week and she's chosen this rich fall inspired color palette--orange, rust, teal, and copper.  I used the current sketch from RetroSketches and dies from Lawn Fawn to create a stamp-free thank you design.

Dipped Leaf Thanks card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-dies from Lawn FawnI was inspired by both the shiny pumpkins and the pretty fall leaves in the photo.  To bring in the shine of the pumpkins, I created a bunch of copper-dipped leaves using die cut leaves and copper embossing powder.  The leaves were arranged on a piece of orange plaid patterned paper.  I lined the left edge of the patterned paper with a strip of rust cardstock, tucking a strip of cream trim beneath it for a feminine touch.  To bring in the teal, I used Lawn Fawn's Scripty Thanks die to cut the word "thanks" from teal-ish cardstock and craft foam. After layering the pieces, I placed them on the plaid panel.  The word was accented with a trio of teal dots.  I matted the finished panel on kraft cardstock, then adhered it to an orange card base.

To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post. As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. Just be sure that the challenge colors are the dominant ones in your project. And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD418. If you upload your projects on social media, go ahead and use the hashtag #ctd418 and #colorthrowdown. You can find us on Instagram (and on Facebook!) with the username colorthrowdown.

Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team, our November guestie, Marisa Ritzen, and this week's guest star stamper, Deanne Kuntz.
