Joy

Here's my card for the current Fusion challenge.  I combined elements of the sketch with elements from the inspiration photo to create my card.

Joy card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking AloudI did something on this card that I don't usually do--mix products from a bunch of different companies.  I guess that's a holdover from when I did a lot of design team work and really had to be sure to limit my products to what was available from the company I was creating for.  Now that I have more designing freedom, I guess I can try to leave that mindset behind!  On this card, I built a simple wreath using one of Reverse Confetti's Swirlies dies.  To give it dimension, I cut the die a few times from kraft cardstock and layered the pieces before adhering them to a gray stitched edge panel.  The word "joy," cut from shimmery white cardstock with a die from Clear and Simple Stamps, was added on top. I accented the wreath with some die cut gold "greenery" and a trio of gold sequins.  After matting the panel on gold cardstock, I adhered it to a kraft card base.  Unfortunately, before I was able to get the card out in the mail, it met an untimely end at the hands (or mouth) of my Chloe the cutie puppy.  You'd think that at almost seven years old, she'd be over the stealing things phase, but clearly she's not . . .

Materials Used:
Limited Edition: Joy die (Clear and Simple Stamps); Swirlies dies (Reverse Confetti); Steel Grey cardstock, Die-namics Wild Greenery dies (My Favorite Things); Stitched Rectangle dies (Lil' Inker Designs); Kraft cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Shimmery White cardstock (Stampin' Up!); gold paper (Target); gold sequins; foam tape

  1. Haha - your post made me laugh because I have a tendency to segregate my products, too! "No STAMPlorations you cannot frolic with Simon Says Stamp. Stay in your boxes!" Whatever happened with this card, you definitely should continue it, because it's a stunning creation! Thank you for joining us at Fusion!
