Color Throwdown 425-Happy Bird-day
It's time for another Color Throwdown! Jodi is our hostess this week with a pretty color combination--black, mustard, and teal.
the current sketch at CAS(e) this Sketch. I used one of my favorite images--the cute chick from the Paper Smooches Birthday Buddies set--as my focal image. The image was colored with Copic markers and cut out with the matching Buddies Icons die. To add dimension to the image, I dotted the chick's party hat with an IrRESISTible Pico Embellisher. With their super fine tip, these are great for adding teeny, tiny details like polka dots.
I used a stitched border die to cut an angled panel for the chick's background. After adhering the chick to the panel using foam tape, I stamped the "happy bird-day" sentiment next to the image. I edged the panel with a mustard colored strip, then placed it on a teal card base stamped with a triangular grid pattern. The mustard layer was a last minute addition to cover up a little gap in the stamped image . . .
To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post. As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. Just be sure that the challenge colors are the dominant ones in your project. And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD425. If you upload your projects on social media, go ahead and use the hashtag #ctd425 and #colorthrowdown. You can find us on Instagram (and on Facebook!) with the username colorthrowdown.
Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team, our January guestie, Leigh Penner, and this week's Guest Star Stamper, Kim Heggins.
