The Challenge 86-Plane and Simple

The Challenge is back with a new papercrafting challenge to inspire you.  This week's challenge features a fun sketch.  Lesley has shared the panel measurements on her blog, so be sure to stop by if you'd like to use them.

Plane and Simple card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Lawn FawnFor my take on the sketch, I used Lawn Fawn's new Plane and Simple stamps and dies.  I made a sky background panel with some distress inks misted with water.  While I waited for the panel to dry, I stamped the plane and clouds.  After coloring the plane with Copic markers, I cut out the stamped images using the matching dies.  Before positioning them on the background panel using foam tape, I used one of the Stitched Trail dies to cut a flight trail into the panel.  I love the detailed look this quick bit of die cutting gives!

I stamped the "you're awesome plane and simple" sentiment at the bottom left corner of the panel, then matted it on silver cardstock.  I positioned the image panel on a coordinating teal card base with red and silver panels cut to match Lesley's measurements.  A pair of layered fishtail flag strips extending from the top of the cardfront to the top of the image panel completed the design.

Check out what the rest of the talented team at The Challenge has created based on this week's sketch.  Here's where to find them:
