Here’s my card for this week’s Muse challenge. I was inspired by the fabulous woodgrain background on Therese's card and the bicycle image.
Instead of using a piece of real wood veneer for my card, I used a piece of blue woodgrain patterned paper to cover most of the cardfront. I added a strip of gray cardstock along the bottom of the cardfront to act as the “road” and ground my image. My image is one of the scooters from the Paper Smooches Spiffy Scooters set. I don’t have the just released matching dies for this set (yet!), so I did a little fussy cutting here after coloring the image with Copic markers. I adhered the scooter to the cardfront using foam tape. It's hard to see in the photo, but I coated the lights on the scooter with Glossy Accents for a glass-like look
The set’s “scooting by to say hi” sentiment is stamped along the edge of the card in red pigment ink. I tried, tried, tried to leave the card alone, but I couldn't resist adding a pair of fluffy white felt clouds in the upper left corner.
Materials Used:
Spiffy Scooters stamp set, Clouds dies (Paper Smooches); Memento Tuxedo Black and Memento Luxe Love Letter inks (Tsukineko); markers (Copic); white cardstock (Taylored Expressions); Basic Gray cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); Memories Captured 6x6 paper pad (Fancy Pants); Glossy Accents (Ranger); white felt (Michaels); foam tape
Love your take on the Muse card and that blue wood grain paper is a gorgeous soft colour which really makes the scooter pop! That is some pretty good fussy cutting!!
