Here's the next installment in my Teacher Appreciation Week series. This card was created using May's first Viva la Verve sketch and Verve's Teachers Count stamp set.
I started off by using the set's number block stamp to make my own chalkboard inspired patterned paper. After repeatedly stamping the image in white pigment ink on a dark gray panel, I heat embossed the images in white. The finished panel was adhered to the left side of a kraft cardstock panel. I wrapped the panel with a piece of red gingham ribbon from my scrap pile, then added a small block of letter patterned paper to the right side of the card over the ribbon.
I stamped the teacher sentiment in black ink on a cream panel, then used Copic markers to add color to the heart image. After matting the sentiment on contrasting red paper, I added it over the other panels. The finished panel was adhered to an easy to write on cream card base.
Materials Used:
Teachers Count stamp set (Verve Stamps); Memento Tuxedo Black ink, Memento Luxe Wedding Dress ink (IMAGINE Crafts/Tsukineko); markers (Copic); Kraft cardstock (WPlus9); Poppy Parade cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Smokey Shadow cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Something Wonderful 6x6 paper pad (Teresa Collins); Snow embossing powder (Michaels); red gingham ribbon (Creative Impressions)
I didn't realize that wasn't patterned paper until I read the post. It's awesome! What a great card!
