Color Throwdown 368-Best Teacher Ever

It's time for another Color Throwdown challenge!  It's my turn to host the challenge and I've chosen a color scheme inspired by a bold fabric print. The colors from this week's inspiration photo are olive green, red, bright pink, and dark gray.

Best Teacher Ever card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Lil' Inker Designs
I originally planned to do a snowflake themed design inspired by the fabric's pattern, but I was thinking about how parent-teacher conferences are starting today in the elementary schools in the school system where I work, so I changed my direction to a teacher themed card.  In my new job with the school system, I won't be talking with parents this year, but I'll be keeping my hard working colleagues in mind over the next few days!

I built my design on an olive green card base. I covered the cardfront with a white panel with strips of red and bright pink cardstock along the bottom.  A pair of silver brads at the left side of the cardstock strips adds a pop of sparkle.  I used the Teacher Word die from Lil' Inker Designs to cut "teacher" from gray cardstock, then added it to the panel.  To finish the sentiment, I stamped the words "best" and "ever" from the Teacher Talk stamp set in gray pigment ink above and below the die cut word.  used the Apple Pieces die to make a sweet apple from cardstock scraps, then adhered it to the white panel using foam tape.

To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post. As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. Just be sure that the challenge colors are the dominant ones in your project. And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD368. If you upload your projects on social media, go ahead and use the hashtag #ctd354 and #colorthrowdown. You can find us on Instagram (and on Facebook!) with the username colorthrowdown.

Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team, our November guestie Karolyn Loncon, and this week’s guest star stamper, Andrea.
