Color Throwdown 374-Luv U Bots

It's time for another Color Throwdown!  We're back from our holiday break with a new look, a pair of new team members, and a fabulous new color combination.  You can check out all of the details on the CTD blog.  Broni is our hostess this week and she's chosen a great combination--aqua, gray, and orange.

I used the colors to make a love themed card.  No, these aren't colors you'd traditionally use on a love themed design, but when you pair them with an adorable robot from the Paper Smooches Boom Bots set, it works perfectly!  I colored up the robot with Copic markers, then cut out the colored image with the matching Boom Bots Icons die.  The robot was adhered to a pale aqua card base over an angled strip of orange cardstock.  To set the orange cardstock off from the card, I edged it with a pair of narrow paper strips--one solid aqua and one striped aqua.  That striped aqua scrap  has been on my table for way too long, so I'm glad it finally found a home!  The set's "love you bots" sentiment was stamped on the bottom of the orange panel in black ink.  For a final pop of color and interest, I stamped the set's little heart speech bubble next to the image in a dark aqua pigment ink.

As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. Just be sure that the challenge colors are the dominant ones in your project.
