TCP Tuesday 309-Hello Spring

It's time for a new TCP Tuesday challenge at The Cat's Pajamas!  For this challenge, we're focusing on Spring.  I paired a TCP stamp with a spring icon (a kite) with the current sketch at CAS(e) this Sketch for my card.

Hello card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from The Cat's PajamasI stamped the kite flying penguin image from the Up, Up, and Away set in black pigment ink, then covered the image with clear embossing powder and heat embossed it for a glossy look.  After the embossing cooled, I colored the image with Copic markers, then carefully cut it out using a combination super sharp scissors and a craft knife.

I used foam tape to adhere the colored image to a light blue card base.  To give the panel more of a sky-like look, I die cut a cloud from shimmery white cardstock using TCP's CutUps Stitched Cloud dies.  The cloud was tucked beneath the  raised image.  I stamped the "hello" sentiment from the Show Me the Monkey set was stamped to the left of the image to complete the design.

Ready to play along with our TCP Tuesday challenge?  I hope so!  Here are the challenge details:
  1. Every other Tuesday a new challenge will be posted on The Cat’s Pajamas blog as well as on our Facebook page.

  1. Lori! He is fabulous! Way to get carried away - you can color over an embossed image? or do mean that you colored the kite after the penguin cooled? Inquiring mind[s] wants to know! Thanks for sending him over to CTS!!
