I'm up on the SugarPea Designs blog today, sharing a bit of sweet SPD inspiration for you. My card was inspired by SPD's new Mix it Up Challenge. This weekly challenge includes both a sketch and an inspiration photo--you can use either one or combine both, like I did here. There's a great prize for one randomly selected player at the end of the month, so be sure to check it out!
I used the floral patterns and elements from the inspiration photo's color scheme on my card. The sketch's circle panel is represented here by the wreath from the Funky Wreath-All Seasons set. I stamped it on kraft cardstock using brown ink, then cut it out with the matching SugarCuts die. It's decorated with flowers from the Funky Wreath-Spring Addition stamp set.
I used foam tape to adhere the wreath to an aqua cardstock panel with a strip of dotted aqua paper across it. I wanted to bring in a dotted element since there is a fun dotty pillow in the inspiration photo. The "just a note to brighten your day" sentiment from the Whatever the Weather stamp set was stamped in bright coral ink on a yellow SugarCuts Stitched Flag die cut. I adhered the sentiment just beneath the wreath. The finished panel was adhered to a soft green card base.
Be sure to check out the creations that some of my other SPD teammates are sharing today on their blogs:
