Color Throwdown 808-Have a Sweet Birthday

It's time for another Color Throwdown! Lynn is our hostess with a mix of citrus-y colors--yellow, pink, and green.

Have a Sweet Birthday card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from My Favorite Things
Here's my card for this week's challenge. It's yet another birthday design. This one is based on the current challenge at The Paper Players. I used the Cupcakes and Sprinkles dies from My Favorite Things (sans sprinkles) to create the cupcake for my focal image. For contrast, I positioned the cupcake over a green dotted panel and a solid pink panel that I adhered to a lemon yellow card base matching the "frosting." In a nod to the gold cupcake "wrapper," a nest of sparkly gold thread is arranged beneath the cupcake for even more festive sparkle. I stamped the "have a sweet birthday" sentiment from MFT's Birthdays Take the Cake set in a slightly darker pink ink in the lower right corner of the cardfront to finish the design.

To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post.  As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. Just be sure that the challenge colors are the dominant ones in your project. And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD808. If you upload your projects on social media, go ahead and use the hashtag #ctd808 and #colorthrowdown.  You can find us on Instagram and on Facebook with the username colorthrowdown.  Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team.
