Here's my card for this week's Muse challenge. I was inspired by the trio of window openings with die cut shapes inside and the handwritten style of the sentiment on Lisa's card. For my take, I switched out the round openings filled with hearts for stars and used a classic black, white, and gold color combination.
I die cut three star shaped openings from a white panel using the medium sized stitched star die from Lil' Inker Designs. The stitched detailing really highlights the openings. For contrast, I layered the die cut panel over a piece of black cardstock, using foam tape for dimension. I filled in each opening with a smaller gold die cut star, again for contrast against the background.
I adhered a black cardstock strip to the bottom of the die cut panel. The "celebrate" sentiment from the Spot On set is stamped in gold ink and heat embossed. I cut a narrow gold paper strip to attach along the top of the black panel to set it off from the rest of the card. After matting the panel on a piece of gold paper, I adhered it to a black card base. Simple, striking, and celebratory all at once!
Materials Used:
Spot On stamp set, stitched star dies (Lil' Inker Designs); Delicata Gold ink (Tsukineko); Basic Black cardstock (Stampin' Up!); white cardstock, gold embossing powder (Michaels); gold paper (Target); foam tape
Oh yeah...this card screams celebrate! SO FANTASTIC! Love the stitched stars and all of the touches of gold!
