Go for the Gold

It's my turn to host this week's TCP Tuesday challenge.  This week's challenge theme is "go for the gold."  Yes, I know the Olympics are (just) over, but the obsession over gold (medals) is still going strong in the paper crafting world as seen by the explosion of gold accents and embellishments everywhere.  So, the challenge is simply to incorporate some gold into your design.  My project uses lots of sparkly gold and the current sketch at Seize the Sketch--be sure to check out the info on this challenge HERE.

Shoot for the Stars-designed by Lori Tecler-Inking Aloud-stamps from The Cat's PajamasI used the rocket flying big eared bunny from the Soar set as my focal image.  I made an outer space backdrop for the bunny by stamping a piece of navy cardstock with gold stars, then heat embossing them for extra sparkle.  A piece of a golden yellow circle, debossed with a dotted pattern, is attached to the bottom of the stamped panel to form a moon.  I stamped the "shoot for the stars" sentiment from the Aim High set on the moon in navy pigment ink.

The panel is matted on red cardstock for a contrasting pop of color.  I adhered it to a navy panel over a shimmery gold cardstock circle, then set the finished panel on a red card base.

I hope you'll join us for this week's challenge. Link up your finished project on the TCP blog for a chance to win this week's Cat Cash prize--and to be in the running to be our next Swanky Stamper. The Swanky Stamper is selected from among all of the month's challenge entries and receives a selection of stamps from an upcoming release and joins the Cat Pack for our Pajama Party and Blog Hop. You can find all the details on the TCP blog.
