Four Flowers

Today's Technique Lovers Challenge on SCS was to make 3x3 cards. I took the challenge a tiny step further and created a set of four 3x3's and a matching tote. I used SU!'s new Palette of Prints paper sampler pack for my cards. These fun prints will be available in the new SU! catalog, coming in July.

Each little card has exactly the same layout. I paired the colors, using my SU! color wheel (Rose Red with So Saffron, Certainly Celery with Almost Amethyst), and used those pairs to create the cards. All that is changed is the patterned paper. I used the big flower from the Love It hostess set as the focal image of the card. The flower is stamped on white cardstock and punched out with a 1 1/2" circle punch--it's a tight fit, but it works. Keeping the layout the same made it quick and easy to assemble the four cards and highlighted the different patterns of the papers. I really like the flowered pattern (here, it's on the Amethyst paper--hard to see in the photo--sorry!). The card tote is made from kraft cardstock. This cardstock is a little sturdier weight than regular SU! cardstock, so I like using it for making the totes. I think this set would make a nice gift ensemble.

Materials Used:
From Stampin' Up!: Love It stamp set; Rose Red, So Saffron, Almost Amethyst, and Certainly Celery Classic inks; Rose Red, So Saffron, Almost Amethyst, Certainly Celery, Kraft, and Whisper White cardstock; Palette of Prints designer paper; mat pack and paper piercing tool; celery, white, taupe, and chocolate grosgrain; dimensionals; Sticky Strip
Other: 1 1/2" and 1 3/4" circle punches (EK Success); copper brads (Making Memories)
