I reused the white tissue paper for a variation on the faux silk technique. I first tried this technique earlier this week and loved how it looked. Since I had plenty of tissue to work with, I figured I'd give it another go, this time with my PTI supplies.
I ended up refreshing my stash of baby cards. I made three 4 1/4" square cards, each using the same layout so that they'd be quick to complete. I did a boy, a girl, and a gender-neutral one, each using a coordinating piece of paper from Polka Dot Parade paper pack.
I stamped the onesie image from Bitty Baby Blessings on pieces of the white tissue paper and on white cardstock. While I waited for the ink to completely dry on the tissue pieces, I stamped the smallest dots from Polka Dot Basics on each of the onesies to decorate them, then cut them out. They're placed on a coordinating solid panel which is then covered with the crumpled, then flattened stamped tissue paper so that the two stamped images (cut out one and one on the tissue) are lined up.
Since the cards are small, I kept the embellishments simple. I tied a piece of contrasting ribbon around the cardfront and added a coordinating tiny button brad to the sentiment panel. So cute!
Materials Used:
Bitty Baby Blessings and Polka Dot Basics stamp sets, Berry Sorbet, Ocean Tides, Summer Sunrise, and Noir Black Palette inks, Berry Sorbet, Sweet Blush, Ocean Tides, Spring Rain, Summer Sunrise, Lemon Tart, and White cardstock, Polka Dot Parade patterned paper, Berry Sorbet satin ribbon, Summer Sunrise and Ocean Tides grosgrain ribbon (Papertrey Ink); 1 1/4" and 1 3/8" circle punches, dimensionals (Stampin' Up!); button brads (Making Memories)
