It’s time for another Color Throwdown! Lynn’s our hostess this week and she’s come up with a great color combination (and inspiration photo!) for our 200th challenge—Pink Passion, Chocolate Chip, Certainly Celery, Pumpkin Pie, and Tempting Turquoise. To celebrate this big milestone, each of the Color Throwdown team members will be giving away a blog candy treat to one lucky winner. For your chance to win, visit each design team member's blog and leave a comment AND create a card or other paper crafted project using the colors from this week’s challenge.
My project features the Ragdoll Chloe: Banner set, one of a brand new line of Rag Doll stamps and accessories available today from Clear and Simple Stamps. You can see the entire collection here. I’m giving away the Ragdoll Chloe: Banner set, complete with its matching rag doll die, to one lucky Color Throwdown challenge player!
If you’re a regular reader of my blog, you might have guessed that I’d have a soft spot in my heart for a stamp set with the name Chloe in it since my adorable goldendoodle puppy is named Chloe, too. Here, I colored the die cut rag doll Chloe image with Copic markers and set her against a festive background of two different patterned papers. The banner held in her hands says “party” and is stamped with an image in the set that’s designed to line up perfectly within the banner when stamped—love that! I made my own banner to dress up the card from a few folded Favor Flag die cuts.
And to go along with the card, I used the new Rag Doll House die and coordinating Rag Doll House: Shop stamp set to make a little treat box that’s the perfect size to hold a mini cupcake. The die cut is adhered to a box made with CSS’s Party Favor 3 die. So that you can see the treat through the box, I used a craft knife to cut a window in both the box and the shop front panel. A piece of acetate between the two keeps the cupcake securely in place.
To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post. To be eligible for the blog candy, you need to leave comments on the design team’s blogs AND play along with this week’s challenge. Winners will be announced on Tuesday along with the Featured Stamper. As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD200. Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team and July’s guestie, Judy Rozema:
