It’s time for another Color Throwdown! Tammy is our hostess this week and she’s sharing a pretty color combination inspired by a floral pattern—Crumb Cake, Bermuda Bay, Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip, and Certainly Celery.
I used the colors along with the current Viva la Verve sketch for this simple birthday card. I made my own patterned paper panel by stamping one of the motif images from Verve’s Thankful Accents set repeatedly in Bermuda Bay ink on a matching Bermuda Bay square. The panel is layered on the kraft cardfront with a celery mat.
I stamped the “happy birthday” sentiment from the new Treasured Words set in dark brown ink on a cream panel, then added that to the card on top of a celery cardstock square. The card’s topped with a strip of celery twill edged with some cream lace trim. I added a little twine tied green button as an embellishment.
To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post. As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD210. Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team.
Gorgeous card, Lori, but have to admit I thought I was on the wrong blog when I counted 7 layers - lol! Not your usual CAS style, but just goes to show... you can rock a layered up style as well! :-)
