CSS Release in Review-Holiday Sweets

Release in Review week continues today at Clear and Simple Stamps with a fresh look at the holiday sets from Collection 5. I used several of the sets along with some CSS dies to create an easy to reproduce holiday gift set.

First up is the card. I “filled” a die cut apothecary jar with the candy cane image from the new Apothecary: Holiday set. The colored image is set on die cut kraft tag with foam tape. The dimension from the foam tape left room for me to slip the edge of panel with the “happy holidays” sentiment from the Sweet Sentiments:  Holidays set underneath the jar image. After topping the tag with a festive bow, I layered it on to a paper doily set on a piece of red dotted paper.

To go with the card, I dressed up a trio of scented tealights by wrapping them with some decorative tape. I used CSS’s Party Favor 4 die to wrap them up. The bottom of the box has a little white insert for the candles to sit on. I covered it with a doily to bring in another element from the card into the packaging. To keep the candles in place, I added a dot of foam tape to the bottom of each one.

I used acetate to cut the top, then wrapped the left side of the top with the same dotted paper as I used on the cardfront. The top of the box is modified a bit from the die cut piece included in the set because I wanted the top to fit a bit more snugly (if that’s a word??). The top slides on and off easily while the candles inside are still visible. I wrapped the dotted paper with a piece of Dare to Be a Diva red satin ribbon and added a little kraft tag. The tag’s stamped with the “for you” sentiment from the Favor Flags stamp set and decorated with a single candy cane from the Apothecary: Holiday set.

Be sure to check out what the rest of the CSS team has to share today. Here’s where to find them:
