Paper Smooches Special Blog Hop
Welcome to a very special blog hop featuring some new products from Paper Smooches. Kate (owner of i {heart} papers) suggested an idea to Kim Hughes at Paper Smooches to create stamps and dies to support our rescued furry friends. They worked together to create some really fun dog rescue products! A portion of the sales will be donated to Home for Good. Kim asked us to share these fun products with you, through our projects.
To add extra fun to our blog hop...we are offering up a prize! TWO winners will be chosen at RANDOM from any of the design team blogs. The prize - a Lucky Dog stamp set, Paws for a Cause stamp set, and Dog Icons dies. Just leave a comment on any of the design team blogs listed for your chance to win! (you do not need to comment on all blogs to qualify but it increases your chances) You have until midnight MT on Wednesday, December 18th to leave a comment. Please check the IHP Blog on Friday, December 20th to see if you are one of the TWO lucky winners.
I have a trio of projects to share today to show off the new stamps and dies. First up is a love themed card using one of the dogs from the Paws for a Cause set. I stamped the dog in Memento Luxe Rich Cocoa ink--the pigment ink works really well with solid images like these and if you don't have some already, definitely give it a try. I added a trio of hearts above the dog, again using Memento Luxe ink. After rounding the top corners of the panel, I wrapped the bottom of the panel with some twine, securing it with a small bow.
The stamped panel is adhered to a kraft card base with a piece of red cardstock, stamped with one of the set's paw images to make my own patterned paper. I stamped the "puppy love" sentiment on a red strip using brown ink and adhered it to the top of the image panel, extending out on to the card base.
And, here's another card using one of the sweet doggies from the Paws for a Cause set. This time, I combined the dog image with an image from the He Said She Said set.
Again, I stamped the dog in brown pigment ink. This time, I added a speech bubble from the He Said She Said set above him. The bubble was stamped on white cardstock and cut out. I added the "ruff day" sentiment inside it in teal ink, then used a dimensional dot to adhere it to the panel.
I adhered the stamped panel to the top of a blue card base, then added a green striped panel at the bottom of the card. I cut a pair of notch-ended strips from cardstock scraps and adhered them just beneath the image panel. A narrow dark blue strip is adhered across the cardfront to hide the seam between the image panel and patterned papers and the tops of my little paper strips.
Last up is a treat wrap. I have a bunch of tiny dog treat packets that I'm planning on giving out to some of Chloe the cutie puppy's pals. She's got a new boyfriend--another cute goldendoodle who recently moved in down the street from us--and I bet she'd like to give him a gift! To dress up the packaging, I scored and folded a strip of green cardstock around the treat packed, securing it at the top with some i {stick} papers redline tape.
I kept the decoration simple, but festive. I cut a red dotted panel for the front of the treat wrap, then added a bone die cut with a die from the Dog Icons die set. The bone's adhered with dimensional dots to add interest. I stamped the "good dog" sentiment from the Lucky Dog set on a notch-ended panel, then added the teeny, tiny paw print image from the Paws for a Cause set at the end of the strip. The wrap is topped off with a piece of red ribbon tied into a knot.
Don't miss the rest of the stops on the hop. Here's a full list of today's hop participants:
