Striped Sunshine
Here’s my card for the current Waltzingmouse Fanatics challenge. At first, I wasn’t sure what to do with the sketch, but once I saw the sketch’s slanted lines as rays of sunshine, my card came together quickly.
So that the card didn’t get too busy, I kept the color scheme to just two colors—yellow and orange. I alternated the colors and mixed up the patterns to add interest. Once the pieces were all in place, I stamped the “you are my sunshine” sentiment from the Half Pint Heroes set across the bottom in black ink. My original plan was to use orange ink, but when I tested it out with my stamp positioner panel, the orange got lost in the patterns, so I went with black instead.
I used Scor Tape to attach a pair of die cut felt clouds to the top of the panel, covering my not so neat work at the top of the card where all the pieces come together. Sneaky, right? The panel is matted on a piece of orange cardstock, then layered on a yellow card base.
Materials Used:
Half Pint Heroes stamp set (Waltzingmouse Stamps); Memento Luxe Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko); Lemon Tart and Orange Zest cardstock, Lemon Tart and Orange Zest patterned papers (Papertrey Ink); cloud dies (Lil’ Inker Designs); white felt (Michaels)
