It's time for another Color Throwdown! Broni is our hostess this week and she's shared this pretty color combination that includes two trendy metallics--gold and silver--with neutral dark brown and white.
The layout for my card is based on the current sketch at CAS(e) this Sketch. I made the large, round element into a star-shaped shaker filled with gold and silver sequins. The stitched detailing of the star die serves as a nice frame so I didn't really need to outline the shaker with colored cardstock. I stamped the "you rock" sentiment from the Lil' Inker Designs Seriously Awesome stamp set directly beneath the star in dark, dark brown ink. The finished shaker panel was adhered to a white card base that I'd layered with dark brown and gold papers to form a narrow border around the panel with the shaker element.
To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post. As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. Just be sure that the challenge colors are the dominant ones in your project. And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD321. Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team, our December guestie, Sue Lelli, and this week’s guest star stamper, Joanne James.
Materials Used:
Seriously Awesome stamp set, stitched star die (Lil' Inker Designs); Memento Espresso Truffle ink (Tsukineko); Early Espresso cardstock (Stampin' Up!); gold paper (Target); sequins; foam tape
