Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 261-You're Brilliant
It's time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge! This week's sketch features a big panel with lots and lots of possibilities.
I used the big panel as a background for a die cut light bulb. I tried something different with the bulb this time. To get a frosted look, I topped the yellow bulb die cut with a layer of vellum. The adhesive holding the vellum in place is hidden underneath the silver part of the bulb. Looks cool! I attached it to the panel with foam tape. A piece of gray twine extending from the top of the bulb to the top of the panel helps to anchor it.
The "you're brilliant" sentiment from the My Favorite Things Watts Up? stamp set was stamped in silver ink on a pale yellow panel, then heat embossed in silver for more sparkle and shine. I adhered it across the white panel. After matting the panel on a piece of pale yellow cardstock, I adhered it to a dark gray card base. A few sequins arranged around the bulb and sentiment finished the design.
To play along, just create a card based on the sketch and link it up on the SSSC blog. Be sure to stop by the blog to check out what the SSSC team has created using the sketch. And, don't forget to check in on Wednesday to see a few of our favorite cards made with the sketch.
Materials Used:
Watts Up? stamp set, Steel Grey and Lemon Chiffon cardstock, Die-namics Lightbulb die (My Favorite Things); Delicata Silvery Shimmer ink (IMAGINE Crafts/Tsukineko); white vellum (The Paper Company); silver embossing powder (Michaels); gray twine (Hemptique); silver sequins; foam tape
