Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 279-Whale, Hello There
It's time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge! I went with a summery, nautical design featuring stamps from Clear and Simple Stamps.
I made the backdrop for my scene from a pair of circle die cuts. The red mat behind the light blue circle really makes the circle pop against the crisp white background! To make waves, I used CSS's ric rac die to cut the top edge of a long strip of blue cardstock. The wave strip was adhered across the bottom of the round panels.
To fill in the scene, I stamped the pair of whales from the Seaside Sentiments 1 set in blue pigment ink, then carefully cut them out. I added the whales to the panel using foam tape. The spouts were stamped in white pigment ink. I added a pair of teeny tiny hearts between the spouts in bold red ink. The set's "whale, hello there" sentiment was stamped in navy pigment ink at the middle of the wave strip.
To play along, just create a card based on the sketch and link it up on the SSSC blog. Be sure to stop by the blog to check out what the SSSC team has created using the sketch. And, don't forget to check in on Wednesday to see one of our favorite cards made with the sketch.
Materials Used:
Seaside Sentiments 1, Hearts Plus, and Taglines: Critters stamp sets, Dare to Be a Diva Red, Trendsetter Blue, My Favorite Blue Jeans, and A Blanc Check cardstock, RicRac/Pinking Borders dies (Clear and Simple Stamps); Memento Luxe Bahama Blue, Nautical Blue, Lady Bug, and Wedding Dress inks (IMAGINE Crafts/Tsukineko); circle die (Spellbinders); Die-namics Pierced Circle die (My Favorite Things); foam tape
