It's time for another Color Throwdown! It's my turn to be the challenge hostess and I've chosen this birdhouse trio as our inspiration. The colors are orange, light blue, dark blue, and kraft.
I couldn't wait to ink up the new Harvest Mouse set from My Favorite Things. I paired the stamps with this week's colors and my take on the current sketch at RetroSketches. I colored up one of the mice in the challenge colors, then carefully cut him out. I arranged a trio of different color and size cardstock circles on a cream panel, then adhered the mouse image on top using foam tape for dimension.
The set's "I pick you" sentiment was stamped on a super narrow kraft fishtail flag strip and adhered to the card with one end tucked underneath the mouse image. I added a trio of orange enamel dots around the panel as accents. I have to admit that it took me longer to settle on the placement for the dots than it did to put together all of the rest of the card. That's kind of sad, isn't it?
To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post. As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. Just be sure that the challenge colors are the dominant ones in your project. And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD359. If you upload your projects on social media, go ahead and use the hashtag #ctd359 and #colorthrowdown. You can find us on Instagram (and on Facebook!) with the username colorthrowdown.
Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team, our September guestie Kelly Latevola, and this week’s guest star stamper, Rosemary Dennis.
