Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 294-Peace and Joy

It's time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge!  This week's sketch called for a square design and even though I wanted to stretch the layout into a standard A2 size, I resisted and put together this simple 4 1/4" square holiday design.

Peace and Joy card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps from Papertrey Ink
I adhered a scrap of patterned paper from a winter themed paper pad to a coordinating green cardstock square, then layered a strip of shimmery silver cardstock across the panel, stretching from side to side.  I stamped the "peace and joy" sentiment from the Papertrey Ink 'Tis the Season Sentiments stamp set in silver ink on an aqua pierced circle die cut.  The silver ink ties in the metallic color from the paper strip across the panel and the pierced detailing on the die cut brings in the dots from the patterned paper.  I used foam tape to adhere the round panel over the patterned and silver papers, then tucked a red fishtail flag strip underneath the bottom of the silver strip.  A pair of clear sequins arranged next to the sentiment panel brought in a bit more wintery sparkle.  The finished panel was adhered to an aqua card base.

To play along, just create a card based on the sketch and link it up on the SSSC blog.  Be sure to stop by the blog to check out what the SSSC team has created using the sketch.  And, don't forget to check in on Wednesday to see one of our favorite cards made with the sketch!

'Tis the Season Sentiments stamp set, Spring Moss and Aqua Mist cardstock, Rustic Snowflakes paper pad (Papertrey Ink); Delicata Shimmery Silver ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); Poppy Parade cardstock (Stampin' Up!); silver paper (Target); Die-namics Pierced Circle Stax and Fishtail Flag Stax dies (My Favorite Things); Sparkling Clear sequins (Pretty Pink Posh); foam tape
