Being Your Friend Has Its Perks

Here's my card for the current Fusion challenge.  I combined the sketch with elements from the inspiration photo (red coffee pot and mugs, rustic gray woodgrain bench) for my design.

Being Your Friend Has Its Perks card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from My Favorite Things
I've been waiting for just the right project for using the Kitschy Kitchen set from My Favorite Things and this was it!  I stamped the coffee pot and mug in red pigment ink, then heat embossed them with clear embossing powder for a glossy, enamel-like look.  The centers of the flowers on the coffee pot were filled in the a bit of IrRESISTible Pico Embellisher.  I added "coffee" to the mug with the help of a dark brown marker.

The finished pieces were cut out with the matching dies, then adhered to a pale gray panel stamped with a gray wood plank pattern, using foam tape for dimension.  I stamped the "being your friend has its perks" sentiment from the Stay Cool set next to the pot and mug in black ink.  The distressed style of the lettering brings in another rustic element to the design.  After edging the wood plank panel with narrow strips of red cardstock, I adhered it to a blue gray card base, picking up the blue-gray shades in the photo.

Materials Used:
Kitschy Kitchen, Stay Cool, and Wood Plank Background stamps, Steel Blue and Grout Gray cardstock, Die-namics Kitschy Kitchen dies (My Favorite Things); Memento Rich Cocoa marker, Memento Tuxedo Black ink, Memento Luxe Gray Flannel and Love Letter inks, and Gray Flannel IrRESISTible Pico Embellisher (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); Real Red cardstock (Stampin' Up!); foam tape
