It's time for another Color Throwdown! Amy Rohl is our hostess today with a timely color combination--green, black, and gold.
I ran with the green to create a leafy card that also serves as my entry for this month's Paper Smooches challenge. I used PS's Botanicals 3 set to randomly stamp a leafy branch on a white panel. The empty spaces between the branches were filled in with two of the set's small flower images, stamped in sparkly gold ink. The centers of the flowers were filled in with a dot of black Enamel Accents. I adhered the stamped panel to the top of a green card base, edging it with narrow gold and black cardstock strips to set it off from the cardfront. For the sentiment, I die cut one of the words from the Hello Words die set from gold paper and craft foam. After layering the pieces for dimension, I adhered them to the front of the card.
To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post. As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. Just be sure that the challenge colors are the dominant ones in your project. And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD434. If you upload your projects on social media, go ahead and use the hashtag #ctd434 and #colorthrowdown. You can find us on Instagram (and on Facebook!) with the username colorthrowdown.
Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team, our March guestie, Lisa Lara, and this week's guest star stamper, Sandy Mathis.
