Birthday Blog Candy

People who know me well know that I am not a big birthday fan. It's not the usual anything to do with getting older, but a lot of other things that weigh on my mind every year around this time. To cheer myself up, I generally "celebrate" my birthday (and the winter holidays, too) by buying what I call "gifts to self." Basically, I give myself permission to shop for stuff I might otherwise think twice, or more, about buying. This week, a Bind-it-All, several SU! stamp sets, some Prima flowers, several packages of patterned paper, and a stamp set from My Favorite Things have all arrived on my doorstep. I make my purchases knowing that I'll end up somewhat regretting these bi-annual shopping sprees when the bills arrive in January and June, but they do lessen my birthday blues.

I had planned on giving away some goodies when my counter hit 15,000 (I still can't believe that!), but when I saw it would likely be the week of my birthday, I decided to combine the two occasions. So, while I was shopping for myself, I made sure to get some additional little gifts to share for my very first blog candy giveaway. The blog candy winner will receive a bunch of clear dollar stamp sets from Michaels and AC Moore (some are from the third release of Studio G stamps that are not as easy to find, from what I understand) along with blocks to use them with, a bottle of Crystal Stickles, a date-stamp style stamp with 12 different sayings, some bright striped ribbon, some fun Prima flowers in different sizes and styles, and a set of metal embellishments . Everything will come inside a tall, clear paint can that can be altered as desired.
