Kitchen Sink Stamps August Challenge

Welcome to the August edition of the Kitchen Sink Stamps Crew challenge. Emilia is this month's guest hostess. Her challenge was to decorate the corners of your card however you choose.

I decided to go for the effect of a picture frame on my card. I started with the focal image using the adorable kittens from the new Multi-step Kittens and Pup stamp set. I'm not a big cat person, but these are so cute! I stamped them in shades of brown for a tabby cat look, then added the "best friends" sentiment curved around them.

I used a faux woodgraining technique to create the frame for the image. After I had finished the woodgrain panel, I cut out a square from the center of the panel to place the image inside. It's hard to see since they blend in, but I added a copper brad to each corner of the frame before attaching it to the pink cardfront. I added a pair of layered pink flowers to the edge of the stamped image as a fun embellishment.

We hope you'll join us for this month's challenge and embellish the corners of your cards, too. Link up your entry on the Kitchen Sink Stamps blog for a chance to win some fabulous prizes.
