Super Birthday Scene

Here’s my card for this week’s My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club challenge to “make a scene.” I love doing that with MFT’s Pure Innocence images and Die-Namics dies! Here, I combined Super Boy and some Die-Namics with this week’s Taylored Expressions sketch challenge for a fun little boy birthday card.

The boy is stamped on white cardstock, colored with Copic markers, and cut out. I made a simple sky background on a blue panel with white felt die cut clouds and a strip of grass. The image is attached to the panel with foam tape. I added a pinking edged circle panel below the scene before attaching it to the cardfront.

The cardfront is covered in papers that coordinate with the boy’s colors. I used a solid red strip along the left edge of the panel and a big dotted pattern on the right. A star strip—perfect for a superhero theme—divides the two panels. I stamped the “have a super birthday” sentiment on a scrap of light blue cardstock and cut the words apart before adding them to the cardfront.

Materials Used:
Pure Innocence Super Boy stamp set, cloud, grass, and star border Die-Namics (My Favorite Things); white cardstock (Taylored Expressions); Tuxedo Black ink (Memento); markers (Copic); Riding Hood Red, Bashful Blue, Crushed Curry, and Pacific Point cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); Flower Shower matstack (DCWV); circle and pinking circle dies (Spellbinders); felt; foam tape
