Color Throwdown 155-Have a Sunshiney Day

It’s Wednesday, which means it’s time for another Color Throwdown. Danielle is our hostess and she's chosen Early Espresso, Rose Red, Barely Banana, and Kiwi Kiss as this week’s color combo.

I combined the colors with this week’s TCP Tuesday challenge to use felt and made a cheery, sunshine-filled scene using the Spring Rain set. I embossed a Barely Banana panel with a dot pattern and built my scene on top of that. I cut a strip of green grass from TCP’s felt with the CutUps Grass die, then added a few white felt clouds cut with from a strip made with the Cloud Border die. The pale yellow felt sun peeking out from behind the clouds is fashioned from one of the CutUps Flower Button dies. I colored the girl image using the challenge colors and paper pieced her umbrella with a scrap of patterned paper, then set her in place with foam tape.

I filled in the space underneath the felt grass with more of the same patterned paper, then added the “have a sunshiney day” sentiment on a Barely Banana panel with the top edge slipped underneath the grass strip.
