Peace on Earth
I'm looking forward to a few (quiet) days off from work as part of the Thanksgiving holiday. I kicked off my mini-break last night with this seasonal card. It uses the color scheme from this week's 10 Minute Craft Dash (blues and kraft--right up my alley!) and this week's sketch from Freshly Made Sketches. I was honored to have my cards from last week recognized by both of these challenges--yay! It also fits the current CAS-ual Fridays challenge to make a clean and simple winter card featuring shades of blue.
With the help of the beautiful die cut felt snowflake pulled from my stash of "leftovers," this card came together in 7 minutes and 42 seconds. I put a piece of navy dotted patterned paper on a white panel, then added smaller strips of Baja Breeze and kraft cardstock across the patterned paper.
The felt snowflake's set over that, accented with a light blue crystal at the center. It's the perfect delicate focal image against the blues. I stamped the "peace on earth" sentiment from the Lil' Inker Designs Instant Camera: Christmas stamp set in navy blue ink just above the patterned paper strip, then set the panel on a kraft card base. Clean, simple, and peaceful!
Materials Used:
Instant Camera: Christmas stamp set (Lil' Inker Designs); Memento Nautical Blue ink (Tsukineko); Baja Breeze and Whisper White cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Kraft cardstock, felt (Papertrey Ink); Dark Denim Dot designer paper (BoBunny); blue crystal (Michaels)
