It’s time for another Color Throwdown! I’m combining this week’s colors—Real Red, Garden Green, Basic Black, Crumb Cake, and Whisper White—with a Sneaky Peek of a new stamp set (or two!) from The Cat’s Pajamas.
The new set is called Key Phrases and works beautifully with the new CutUps Key to Your Heart dies. Here, I used the “to my heart” sentiment along with a die cut key as the focal image on my card. The key’s cut from kraft cardstock and weathered a bit with distress inks, then attached to the oval panel just above the sentiment.
The sentiment panel is set on a white panel along with a green and white patterned strip. The patterned strip was made with the new Lock and Heart background stamp (yes, another Sneaky Peek!). I edged it with a solid red strip for a bold pop of color. A bold red heart, also cut with the new Key to Your Heart die, set at the bottom edge of the sentiment panel finishes off the design.
To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post. As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD234. Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team and March’s guest designer, Kim Howard.
Materials Used:
Key Phrases and Lock and Heart Background stamp sets, CutUps Key to Your Heart dies (The Cat’s Pajamas); Memento Cottage Ivy and Tuxedo Black inks (Tsukineko); Tea Dye distress ink (Ranger); Real Red, Whisper White, and Basic Black cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); Desert Storm cardstock (Neenah); oval dies (Spellbinders); foam tape
