Miss You

Here’s my card for this month’s Avery Elle guest designer challenge. I took my inspiration from the photo’s color scheme and the sort of sad, rainy day feel I got from the photo. That translated to this super simple missing you card using the new Roll with It set.

I started off by creating the background panel using kraft cardstock and a bunch of distress inks. I applied a few different blues and greens and some browns, too, with an ink blending tool until I was satisfied with the look.

Once the ink had fully set and dried, I stamped the two-seated bicycle and the heart cluster images on the inked panel in watermark ink, then covered them with black embossing powder and heat embossed the images for a bold contrast. I embossed the set’s “miss you” sentiment on a strip of blue cardstock, then adhered the stamped panel along with a pair of solid cardstock strips along the left edge of the panel. I added a green button, tied with natural twine, to the strips as an accent. The finished panel was adhered to a kraft card base with a woodgrain pattern stamped on it. I’d stamped it for another project and ended up not using it at the time, but it worked perfectly for this one!

Materials Used:
Roll with It stamp set (Avery Elle); Crumb Cake Classic ink, Bermuda Bay cardstock, black embossing powder (Stampin’ Up!); Versamark ink (Tsukineko); Shabby Shutters, Peeled Paint, Salty Ocean, Tumbled Glass, Peacock Feathers, and Tea Dye distress inks (Ranger); Ripe Avocado cardstock (Papertrey Ink); hemp twine (Hemptique); button
